Biamp MASKC ClickMount Bracket - Features & Installation

Posted on: 1st December 2022

Today we’re introducing you to the Clickmount bracket from Biamp. The Clickmount comes as standard with the MASKC Series. A compact range of two-way speakers with both a four- and six-inch version to choose from.  Each speaker is available for 8 ohms operation or for low impedance 100v line applications. All MASKC speakers are IP64-rated for indoor and outdoor use and are available in black or white, or a custom RAL colour. They’re built with high-quality components and housed in an ABS plastic cabinet with a matching aluminium grille.

What is Clickmount?

Before Clickmount was introduced, MASK speakers featured the Intelli-mount bracket. This ball joint mount made it very simple to adjust your speaker but could be tricky to fit, difficult to match angles between speakers and required you to wire up your speaker after installation.

All of this is simplified with Clickmount. Unlike the Intelli-mount bracket, Clickmount allows you to pre-install and pre-wire all your connections without the speaker going anywhere near the bracket. This is thanks to the unique mounting system on the back of the speaker which has 2 pins that plug directly into wired terminals on the Clickmount. This works in both horizontal and vertical configurations and you can rotate the badge on the front of the speaker to match.

This small change has a significant impact on your installs, saving you up to 35% installation time per speaker and eliminating the awkwardness of wiring up in tight spaces. Another massive bonus, installers and integrators can do all their wiring and setup before a space is decorated.  This allows contractors to finish decorating a space around the mount and quickly attach the speakers later, avoiding unnecessary damage during painting or plastering.

Construction

The Clickmount itself is a very well-made solid plastic bracket. It has four screw holes for fixing to the wall, a built-in spirit level and convenient holes at the top and back for feeding cables through. The mount pivots on two axes and fixes into position with a locking lever, again making it easier to position your speaker in tight spaces. There’re also markers on both axes to help you match angles between speakers.

At the front of the Clickmount there’s a rubber seal for weatherproofing, positive and minus indicators for your terminals and 3 sets of sockets for connecting your speaker in vertical or horizontal configuration. To wire up your speaker, we have four locking splicing connectors for in and through signal, allowing you to daisy-chain multiple speakers together. Simply lift the lever, insert your cable at the bottom of the mount and lock it in.

Finally, there’s an included face plate for covering the wires, mounting holes and spirit level. This could also act to cover up any paint marks or scuffs that might occur during installation.

There is another version of this unique bracket, the ClickMount CMX. This mount is included with the Desono EX Series which is also available with a ClickMount U bracket. The only differences between the two is that the CMX ClickMount has wider mounting points for larger bolts and screws, a tamper-proof locking mechanism and a more discrete speaker lock.
