In the TecZone with K-array

Posted on: 12th January 2018

K-array made its TecZone debut with the event Invisible Audio: Fact or Fiction on Nov 14th, where participants got to experience the impressive range of K-array equipment first hand.

Distributed in the UK by 2B Heard, K-Array is a manufacturer of unique audio solutions for installed applications, portable PA and touring. Hailing from Italy, the company is renowned for its innovative and groundbreaking approach to sound reinforcement, from the tiny 4 x 0.5” Lyzard KZ12 speaker, up to the flagship Firenze touring system. All K-Array systems are engineered not just to deliver sonic excellence but also slim dimensions and lightweight construction, making them extremely discreet when installed and also maximising storage space during touring transport.

Our TecZone event focused on the diversity of K-Arrays systems, with a lot of attendees showing interest in the range of install orientated products. One of the main things our customers wanted to get from the day was to know which K-Array systems are suitable for their application, whilst maximising the budget available. All customers that attended compete in a difficult marketplace, so it’s very important to provide a professional solution as competitively as possible.

The Anakonda KAN200 impressed the room with its flexible chassis that enables the speaker to be installed, hidden and wrapped around just about anything, anywhere. As well as the Anakonda being flexible it also measures a giant 2 metres in length with the possibility of connecting up to 32 fixtures together at any one time – that’s a whopping 62 metre long speaker! As the Anakonda is so visually discreet, it’s regularly fitted in retail applications; theatres and concert halls for an audio solution that’s heard but not seen.

During the afternoon the attendees were taken into the Leisuretec warehouse for a demo on the beastly KK102-Kobra speaker to experience its immense power vs size capability. The Kobra houses 16 drivers in its 1m chassis which are closely placed to avoid distortion and improve sound clarity close to and at a distance from the speaker. The KK102 also features unique performance-to-size ratio to suit many applications and can be interconnected with speakers to create endless possibilities for temporary or permanent installations. The KK102 has regularly been used in the Royal Albert Hall for concerts and orchestra performances.

A massive USP for K-array is that their products are customisable and available in a number of finishes which play a big part in disguising the equipment and incorporating it into projects. Gold, stainless steel and brushed are among the most popular choices, however many of their products can be customised to a design of your choice allowing for a total chameleon-like effect.

We’d like to say a massive thank you to everyone who attended this course, we hope you had a great experience and learnt something you can take away to benefit your business in the future.

All of our TecZone training courses are completely free of charge, with drinks and snacks provided throughout the day alongside hot fresh food at lunch time. If you're interested in attending a future course please visit our TecZone page.
