Successful Changes Pave the Way for the Future of BPM | PRO

Posted on: 15th September 2016

Celebrating 10 years of BPM, the new-look BPM | PRO continued to exemplify the energy and creativity that drives the DJ & Studio and Sound & Lighting industry. This year’s show - which took place from Sunday the 11th to Tuesday the 13th of September - boasted a solid two days of visitors with a further day focused on the trade visitor, building a strong foundation for the future of the brand new BPM | PRO format.

Closing on a high in the new venue, Genting Arena, NEC, the reaction from visitors and exhibitors alike was extremely positive; many feeling very much at home in a venue which was fit for purpose. With a social space for DJ & Studio, a full-height arena for Professional Lighting and Special Effects, and individual rooms for sound demonstrations, the move from a traditional exhibition space into this new venue has proved a big success.

An exceptional audience of end user DJs, Music Producers, Lighting Designers, Sound Technicians and Venue Owners flocked to the show, providing the best brands from around the world with the opportunity to show off their new products to a plethora of visitors. At the core of BPM | PRO is the aim to unite attendees and exhibitors, acting as the ultimate platform for networking, sharing new and upcoming products and cultivating new business relationships.

Mark Walsh, Marked Events Director and co-founder of BPM | PRO said: “We have made a lot of changes this year, and they appear to have all paid off! A change of days has not affected our visitor numbers, but has allowed us to build on creating a strong trade visitor demographic in the up and coming years. The new venue has been the absolute right choice for our industry, not only is the space fresh and exciting it is also surrounded by plenty of hotels, bars and restaurants which allows the show atmosphere to continue on through the evenings. I am extremely thankful to all those exhibitors who have supported the show over the past ten years and especially to those who took a chance on us again this year. Myself and my team are already excitedly working on the 2017 event, where we will build on the positives from this year and listen to feedback, from both visitors and exhibitors, to create an even bigger and better BPM | PRO for 2017!”

Taking centre stage in the DJ & Studio hall, Pioneer DJ and Pioneer Professional treated the crowds to a huge amount of gear including some brand new products alongside old favourites. Martin Dockree from Pioneer DJ said: “We love BPM | PRO, it's the only show in Europe where we get to engage with thousands of end customers in a short space of time and let them have hands on time with our new products before they hit the stores. This new studio element worked particularly well for us this time as we got our new Toraiz production controller in front of its target audience producer-DJs.”

Trade sponsors Leisuretec ran live demonstrations on the Avolites Quartz Console throughout the show. Charlie Henden from Lesiuretec said: "What a way to celebrate 10 years! The team are only just recovering from the three days at BPM | PRO this year, but it was definitely worth it! A great vibe, new faces and overall a fantastic opportunity to socialise with customers and suppliers. You can be sure to see Leisuretec exhibiting at the show next year!"

The impressive talents of the team at CHAUVET were demonstrated in the hugely popular CHAUVET Arena supported by a powerful NEXO sound system. The Arena played host to the DMC UK Finals and a 16-piece orchestra – Symphonica and Mr Switch – which was a firm favourite with BPM | PRO regulars. CHAUVET DJ also had a few new lights on show, the Freedom Stick, the EVE E-50 and the FXPar9. Michael Brooksbank from CHAUVET Europe said: “BPM | PRO is the first trade show date in our diaries at CHAUVET Europe as we have the greatest opportunity to really present our products in the best possible light! This year the show was only further enhanced with the new layout and a significant increase in the number and quality of visitors. As for the CHAUVET Arena, well … anyone who didn’t see it this year had better get tickets for next year because it only gets better with age and experience!”

BPM | PRO will return to the Genting Arena, NEC, in 2017, dates to be announced soon. Tickets to be available in Spring 2017.
