Two Successful Days at PLASA Focus Leeds

Once again, PLASA Focus Leeds returned to the Royal Armouries to host a jam packed show full of seminars, UK product debuts and plenty of networking opportunities. With our eye-catching stand and friendly and laid back approach, Leisuretec were positioned right in front of the main hall entrance to greet lots of new and existing customers, suppliers and people in the industry alike.
We filled our stand in force with 6 members of Team Leisuretec - Wayne, Rob, Andy, Holly, Charlie and Mike (pictured to the right). Alongside a variety of new products from market leaders QSC, Sennheiser and CHAUVET Professional, there was plenty to talk about and of course in true Leisuretec style our fridge was bursting with booze!
We've worked closely with Production Plus to build our exhibition stands for many years, and PLASA Focus Leeds was no exception as we laid the foundations for another successful show. Our Marketing Manager Charlie Henden commented: “We use Production Plus year after year as they always deliver on product, service and support. They never fail to make our ideas on paper come to life and they play a massive part in making the Leisuretec brand stand out… literally!” The main focal point of the stand was the large circular truss, featuring a striking double sided 8 foot diameter graphic advertising our trade website and its most recent updates. The stand had a warm and vibrant ambiance thanks to 4 x CHAUVET Professional Rogue R1 FX-B's, 4 x CHAUVET DJ COLORdash Par Hex 12's, 6 x CHAUVET Professional WELL Fit's, 2 x COLORdash Batten Quad 12's and 2 x EVE E100Z profile spots.
The CHAUVET Maverick MK3 Wash stood proudly on its plinth just below the circular truss and it became a real focal point for the stand. Although we didn’t have it operating, just having the MK3 Wash on our stand really demonstrated its sheer size and stamped it's authority within the Maverick range. Andy Friedli, our lighting expert was on hand and in his element interacting with customers, designing systems and offering his knowledge and advice to anyone that asked. All delivered with a smile of course!
The QSC K.2 Series made their UK tradeshow debut on our stand. Their new shape and centre-stage positioning attracted particular interest from many industry professionals over the two day show. QSC's K.2 Series have evolved from the original K Series with the addition of plenty more features that fortify QSC's fantastic reputation. They boast a mighty 2000watt of power, sophisticated pre-sets & scenes along with advanced power & DSP. All of this is housed in a rugged ABS enclosure with a professional yet unobtrusive appearance. And to top it all off in classic QSC fashion, the K.2 Series comes with a 6 year warranty.
PLASA Focus Leeds provided plenty of opportunity to attend seminars and panel sessions led by key speakers and special guests. The topics spread across new technology and software, marketing workshops and console training. Alongside that, PLASA and PSA showed their support for Mental Health Awareness week and discussed the emotional and psychological issues faced by so many individuals in the entertainment industry.
PLASA Leeds really does have something on offer for everyone and thanks to its buzzing atmosphere it creates the perfect platform for customer and supplier interaction. The show will be celebrating its 10th anniversary next year and is sure to have something exciting in store. Director of PLASA Events, Christopher Toulmin, comments “We’ve taken on additional outdoor space at the venue where we will be hosting audio demos. The area is normally used as a jousting arena – so this is a truly unique opportunity for us! We’ll also use the space to create plenty of outdoor experiences, including things such as pyrotechnics.” PLASA Focus Leeds 2017 was certainly a success and while we can’t wait to return next year, Leisuretec is looking forward to PLASA London this coming September. We hope to see you all there!
