June Employee of the Month – Take a Bow Charlie

A shiny new Leisuretec website was a twinkle in Charlie’s eye back in 2023. He had the desire, and the drive, to build on the success of the existing website and introduce a host of features to greatly improve the browsing experience and purchasing journey for customers. With hard work and dedication, he achieved this goal in early June and the Employee of the Month votes were quick to come tumbling after.   

A couple of the many comments from the team says it all:

‘Charlie has single-handedly built and launched a brand-new website for Leisuretec, which included hundreds of hours of dedication as well as keeping on top of an already busy workload. He has continued to support the whole team with this transition, setting aside time to train departments on new processes.’

‘A virtual seamless transition to our new website and high levels of orders received on the web, right from the first day.’

The new site not only looks great and works like a dream, but it also connects better to our central IT system. That helps speed up internal sales processes and, in turn, the slick customer service for which we’re already renowned.

Bringing the site in-house gives us much more control over how we present ourselves and the overall shopping experience for our trade customers. We can now make pricing clearer, improve product layouts, and respond quickly to updates. We’ve added new features too. Our blogs and case studies are now interactive, customers can leave comments (please do!) and the checkout experience is much smoother. We’ve improved the instant search bar and also added a dedicated search page where customers can use additional filters to narrow down their query, helping them find their products faster. Not only that – it’s got dark mode, which makes it easier on the eyes – a modern necessity for browsing in low-light. 

Charlie adds: ‘I’m absolutely flattered that the team’s voted for me and rewarded me with Employee of the Month. I’d like to thank everyone for their support on the project and willingness to adapt to a new system, all without missing a single order.’ His £100 bonus for a job well done is the treat of a new pair of trainers for an upcoming Ibiza trip. For all the late nights, early morning and weekends – thank you from all of us. You should be extremely proud!
