Leisuretec Distribution Announce Subterranean Warehouse Expansion

Posted on: 1st April 2022

It seems there's no stopping a rising tide. Hot on the heels of their latest warehouse acquisition in early 2022 - adding a massive 7,500ft2 for stock holding - industry giants Leisuretec are already driving forward with their next growth project.

The leading Trade Distributor of sound, lighting and video equipment knows well the importance of premium warehouse space. "Our ability to consistently deliver a huge choice of solutions has always been one of our core values," commented a Leisuretec Spokesperson. "That's why we continue to invest in our brands and our warehousing to support our customers at a moment's notice."

With their latest warehouse acquisition, Leisuretec has continued to expand their available range, with over 2,600 products in stock. However, with supply and demand continuing to rise and space still at a premium, Leisuretec have a cunning plan to grow their holding even further.

"Obviously our first thought was to build up, but with the strict airspace restrictions around Dunstable Glider Club, that was just out of the question. That's when we decided the only way was down!" With works planned from now until 12:00pm Friday 1 April 2022, Leisuretec will excavate the land below their existing warehouses. This should yield up to 1,800,000ft3 of vertical space for stock holding.

"It's a dizzyingly ambitious project," said Bob, the builder contracted with carrying out the works. "We're not mucking about though. We've already scooped up some new talent to help with the more lofty challenges, and now we're ready to roley." When asked if his team can accomplish the ambitious build in time, Bob enthusiastically replied, "Yes we can!"

While the difficulty of excavating the new warehouses seems to be in hand, navigating the logistics of such a large vertical structure must come with its own set of challenges? "Not really." Why not? "We're already planning to implement a new stock tracking system. This combined with additional staffing, streamlined order processing, hover-forklifts and dedicated training days, we're confident our team will thrive at every level." - Leisuretec.

Leisuretec's 3D approach to the typically 2D problem of premium warehouse space is refreshing to see. It's this kind of below the box thinking that's allowed them to dig deep and grow into an industry favourite. We can't wait to take the tour once it's finished.
