Hot Dub Time Machine, an iconic event held at the Royal Highland Centre in Edinburgh, is known for its diverse music lineup spanning every decade and genre. The event organisers approached Catalyst with the task of providing a large-scale LED video wall with 4K infrastructure to enhance the visual experience for attendees. To meet this challenge head-on, Catalyst chose Theatrixx’s 4K HDMI to Fibre converters and Theatrixx 4K HDMI distribution amplifiers.
Catalyst recognised the need for high-quality, robust equipment to successfully execute the Hot Dub Time Machine project. The primary challenge was to transmit 4K video signals reliably and efficiently from the front-of-house position to the stage, covering a considerable distance within the Royal Highland Centre.
Catalyst's technical team decided to employ Theatrixx 4K HDMI to Fibre converters due to their reputation for excellence in signal conversion and transmission. These converters, known for their reliability and ability to maintain video quality over long distances, perfectly met the project's requirements. Additionally, Theatrixx 4K HDMI distribution amplifiers were integrated into the setup to ensure seamless signal distribution to the LED video wall.
With the size of the event, power cables being knocked and pulled out is also a concern. With the xVisions built-in PSU and locking connectors, Catalyst can simply plug the video converters in and carry on with the rest of the show ensuring there will be constant power.
This combination of equipment allowed Catalyst to create a robust 4K infrastructure that ensured stunning visual displays for Hot Dub Time Machine, enhancing the overall event experience for attendees with the help of Theatrixx 4K HDMI xVision Converters.
