Event Power Engineering and CHAUVET Professional illuminate Littlehampton

Event lighting and Christmas lighting specialists, Event Power Engineering, were enlisted by Littlehampton Town Council to create a magical yet innovative Christmas lighting display in the town centre. The display ran throughout the festive period starting with the annual light switch on during November, right up until the 12th night of Christmas in January.
In addition to traditional Christmas lights, the council requested projections of colourful images around the town to help get its residents into the Christmas spirit! The desired effect was achieved by using 8 CHAUVET Professional Ovation E-260WW, 15-30 plus 25-50 degree HD zoom lenses and gobos specified by the Leisuretec sales team. “We found the lengths that Leisuretec took to ensure the order was fulfilled on time very refreshing. Without the help of the sales team we could not have completed the project on time” said Dominic, managing director at EPE. The Ovations were installed around the centre to be projected across buildings and the towns feature clock tower. Accompanying the Ovations were around 100 baubles dotted about the town with over 600 metres of warm white icicle lights to help create a seasonal atmosphere.
The main challenge EPE faced when spec’ing this project was ensuring that all of the images would be visible outside in winter daylight, however, powered by a single 230W LED, it’s no surprise that the Ovation E-260WW ticked all of the boxes. “Due to the outdoor use and varying throw distances we chose the LED Ovation” commented Dominic. “We found alternative products that were LED; IP rated and accepted a gobo, but none that had the brightness of the Ovation”. Following the success of the Ovations and the lighting display running without a glitch, Event Power Engineering plan to promote the same setup in future projects across the country.
