Our Highlights of 2019

2019 has been an interesting year. We think it’s safe to say that for the majority, it’s been impossible to ignore the general political noise and the inevitable uncertainty that follows. Our mentality has been to focus on factors we can influence and control; make our own luck by concentrating on our strengths and upkeeping a healthy service to you. Not only have we continued to grow our sales, we’ve been very busy in the background with some key initiatives that will build a stronger foundation to continue growth in the future. And with that, here are some of our highlights from 2019.
1. IT and System Upgrades
Last year we embarked on an 18 month journey to upgrade our central IT business management system. We’re very proud to have gone live at the end of September, a vital step forward to accelerate our company growth. Although the primary consideration for this project was user confidence on the new system, it’s completely natural for a huge change like this to impact your working life and therefore, our entire team deserves full credit for pushing forward as they did and still upkeeping our strong sales and customer experience.
Our new system brings forward all of the greatness and efficiencies from old, but with added flexibility and intelligence that will continue to make our processes and customer service to you even better. We’ve already got some additional updates planned for 2020 and are very excited to move into the New Year.
2. Continued Team Development
Our team has made brilliant progress this year. We’ve had a strong focus on developing their technical knowledge and professional skills with numerous manufacturer-lead training sessions across sound, lighting and video, alongside professional workshops on sales, marketing and service. We’ve also welcomed 4 new members to the team and our recruitment continues into 2020 to grow our team and continue supporting you as best we can.
3. Continued Supplier Relationships
We’ve continued to invest a lot of time and energy into our long standing supplier relationships. This has involved team trips to CHAUVET in Belgium, RCF in Italy and Sennheiser in Germany alongside multiple technical training sessions for our team. We’ve also started relationships with a couple of new brands: Sontronics, UK manufacturers of professional microphone solutions for live and studio and SigNET, an established manufacturer focused on life safety audio and communication. In 2020, you can continue to use our strong supplier relationships to your advantage with quick access to product, technical support and competitive trade pricing.
4. Continued Tradeshow Presence and TecZone Training Events
It has been another successful year for events with a strong presence at key UK trade shows like PLASA London, PLASA Leeds, ISCEx, BPM, and European shows ISE and Prolight & Sound. We’ve continued to invest into our TecZone training events this year, hosting over 200 customers and industry professionals across 20+ events on sound and lighting. We’ve already got some exciting ideas planned for next year, so make sure you keep up with our TecZone page for value added training opportunities!
5. Facilities / Infrastructure Development
An objective at the start of 2019 was to further improve our office working environment for the team. We’re proud to have installed a new eco-friendly air conditioning and filtration system, have fully upgraded all office and warehouse lighting to energy saving LEDs solutions and have also introduced further initiatives to support recycling and general waste throughout the building. How we can support the environment and our local community is becoming an increasing consideration for us and we already have some exciting plans for next year.
In Summary
All of this and many more highlights have been underpinned by another year of continued sales and commercial growth for Leisuretec, something we’re all very proud of. So here we are, another year gone and another year to look forward to.
