What are PTZ Cameras?

PTZ stands for Pan Tilt and Zoom which describes the movement, mobility and flexibility of these cameras.

PTZ cameras like JVC’s KY Series will typically be used for live streaming purposes, such as sports events & conferences, or for surveillance purposes.

PTZ’s can offer 4K resolution to capture busy environments like concerts in the highest quality possible. Plus, they can also offer auto-tracking features, which can ensure a subject is always in centre frame so there’s no need for full manual operation.

The cameras can also be specified with unique IP addresses so multiple cameras can be used on the same server when needing to connect more than one together. So, if you’re a video engineer it’s worth thinking about adding PTZ’s to your hire stock!
