DMU Digital Meters Unit for NEXAMPs Input Patching 1U
The DMU enables easy monitoring of all activity on the NXAMP or NXAMPMK2’s audio inputs, with signal and power supply coming from the amplifier’s GPIO port. Front panel features include four analogue XLR inputs plus links, three RJ45 ports for digital audio networking and LED VU meters.
The DMU is a unique tool that will perfectly fit your NXAMPs when used on the road. It offers all the necessary tools to ensure easy patching of the NXAMP inputs.
Traditional patch bay...
In an elegant but robust 1U low depth enclosure, the DMU offers to most demanding users an immediate overview of all inputs connected to the NXAMP powered TDcontroller. On the left part of the unit, four XLR inputs (with output links) will act like a traditional patch bay, outputting the analogue signals on four XLR on the back panel, to fit any cable length between the DMU and the NXAMP. On the right part of the unit, three Ethercon connectors does the same but with audio and/or remote control networks.
... With unique functionality
On each audio input, analogue on XLR or digital on Ethercon, the DMU offers a highly readable, eight level vue-meter, plus two status LEDs for each network inputs. Nothing to configure, these vue-meters are automatically driven (and powered) from the GPIO port of the host NXAMP. Analogue meters takes care of the variable input gain of the powered TDcontroller, whereas only patched digital inputs among the one available on an audio network will be displayed.
Matched impedance routing
Unlike entry-level input patch bay, using only wires to connect front panel to back panel plugs, the DMU uses a carefully routed multi-layer PCB, with a shielded low impedance design for analogue audio and matched impedance design for the high speed network inputs.
