Crystal Sound & Vision Bring Mexican Nightlife to Kensington's New Bar

Crystal Sound and Vision, a family-run audio-visual company based in North London, has over 25 years of experience specialising in commercial AV, particularly in the pub and bar scene. The company has earned a reputation for delivering high-quality installations tailored to individual requirements.
This particular project at Mezcalito in Kensington, London, stemmed from a recommendation by a DJ friend working at the client's Chelsea bar. The challenge was to revamp an existing site into a modern Mexican nightlife experience. The venue had an upstairs cocktail lounge that needed a new audio solution and a downstairs space with an existing semi-functional sound system.
For the cocktail lounge upstairs, Crystal Sound and Vision provided a Martin Audio solution, fulfilling the client's need for "warm background music." The installation included 4 x Martin Audio CDD5 loudspeakers and 2 x Martin Audio SX110 Subwoofers, creating a crisp and immersive audio experience ideal for the high-end London cocktail lounge.
The more substantial sound install went into the basement, which involved intricate planning and discussions with the client due to the venue’s low ceilings. Crystal Sound and Vision still opted for Martin Audio due to its sound quality. The installation included a combination of CDD6 and CDD5 loudspeakers, SX112 and SX110 Subwoofers, strategically positioned for optimal coverage in different areas of the venue, keeping to the height restrictions.
To manage the sophisticated audio setup, Crystal Sound and Vision used a Cloud DCM1e Digital Zonal Mixer for networked audio control. Three Martin Audio DX 0.4 Digital Sound Processors were employed to enhance and protect the sound, crucial for a venue hosting DJs. Several professional power amplifiers like Aparts Revamp 2150, 1 Dynacord SL900 and 2 SL1200s completed the main set-up.
